  Hill and Forkner Confederate Snuff. Label reads: "Confederate Snuff manufactured by Hill & Forkner, Mt. Airy, N.C. This snuff is made of the best material and warranted to be superior to the Yankee compositions, being free from anything offensive to the stomach." A few of these packages had been discovered recently in a building in Mt. Airy which had been used as a general store and pharmacy in the past. The building was scheduled to be demolished and some people were allowed to go inside and salvage what they could find. This "Confederate Snuff" was among those discoveries.
