    W. B. White of Dobson is the dean of high school agriculture teachers in Surry County. Dobson was the first Surry school to secure an agriculture teacher, starting the course in the early twenties. White is a native of Iredell County and was born and reared on a farm. He attended the Farm Life School at Harmony and was graduated from N. C. State College in 1922 with a B. S. degree in agriculture. He was in charge of the dairy herd at N. C. State for two years and did graduate work in dairying. He received his B. S. degree in June 1924. White went to Dobson to teach agriculture in the fall of 1924 and taught there for nine years. He went to Union Grove High School as agriculture teacher in 1933, remaining until last spring when he returned to Dobson. He was married to Miss Elsie Mae Huddleston of Raleigh in June 1922. They have two children, W. B. "Billy" Jr., and Elaine. Billy was a star on the Dobson six-man football team last fall and at the present time is a member of the basketball team.
