postcard of Mount Airy Bottling Works. B.E. Herman, right, founder of Mount Airy Bottling Works, is pictured, circa 1898, with the delivery horse, Snowball. This business was located on Moore Avenue in Mount Airy, NC. The primary products were Herman's Ginger Ale and Herman's Sarsaparilla. Shortly after 1900, the business name was changed to Mount Airy Coca-Cola Bottling Company to reflect the availability of a new product. On the left of the Bottling company was Granite City Pressing Co. - Steam Dye Works and on the right was Restaurant Meals at All Hours - Oysters
