Plate, commemorative church, Rockford Street Methodist Church, white plate with gold rim edge, photo of church recessed in center surrounded by thin gold rim. On back: Rockford Street Methodist Church was organized in 1921 with 93 Charter members. Church School and Worship Services were conducted in a tabernacle ??? present church building was under construction. In 1924, the 4th quarter conference authorized the building of the church, and the cornerstone was laid on August 16, 1925. The first pastor was Rev. George W. Williams. The church was dedicated Sunday, September 23, 1929. The dedication sermon was preached by Mr. E.K. McLarty. -
